China a Stabilizing Force in Region: Pakistan’s CJCSC

RAWALPINDI — Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Tuesday underscored China’s crucial role as a stabilizing force in regional security, reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to strengthen defence and strategic cooperation with its longstanding partner.

Speaking as Chief Guest at the 98th founding day ceremony of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in Rawalpindi, General Mirza extended warm congratulations to the people of China, its military leadership, and all ranks of the PLA.

He commended the PLA’s transformation under President Xi Jinping’s leadership, highlighting its vital contributions to China’s rapid development, modernisation, and regional peace and stability.

General Mirza emphasised the enduring and “iron-clad” friendship between Pakistan and China, describing it as a time-tested partnership built on trust, mutual respect, and shared goals.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Chinese nationals working in Pakistan and advancing joint projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which he described as central to enhancing regional connectivity and economic development.

The CJCSC stressed Pakistan’s dedication to expanding defence collaboration with China, promoting regional harmony, and supporting shared efforts for sustainable development.

He also underscored the importance of joint initiatives to improve security frameworks, counter emerging threats, and build long-term peace in South Asia.

The ceremony was attended by senior civilian and military officials, business leaders, media representatives, and civil society members, reflecting widespread support for the Pakistan-China strategic partnership.

According to a press release from Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the event showcased both countries’ shared commitment to deepening cooperation in all fields, strengthening defence ties, and advancing regional security and development.
