China Sends Over 50 Warplanes Near Taiwan in Military Drill

China deployed more than 50 military aircraft and drones near Taiwan in a large-scale military drill, calling it a response to separatist activities by Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te.

According to China’s Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO), the exercises serve as a warning against Taiwan’s push for independence. Beijing reiterated its stance that Taiwan is part of China, vowing to take action against any attempts to alter the status quo.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense confirmed the airspace violations, stating that its air and naval forces were actively monitoring the situation. In response, Taiwan denounced China’s actions, labeling them as destabilizing and provocative.

The rising tensions come amid growing military and diplomatic pressure from Beijing, escalating concerns about regional security and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
