China’s Two Sessions to Strengthen Pak-China Economic Cooperation

 

China’s Two Sessions, the annual meetings of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), are expected to further enhance Pakistan-China bilateral relations and foster economic growth.

According to Muhammad Zamir Assadi, a Research Fellow at the China International Press and Communication Centre, China’s ongoing commitment to shared prosperity will open new economic opportunities for Pakistan.

He emphasized that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), particularly its second phase, will play a pivotal role in expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.

The second phase of CPEC is set to focus on:
✅ Industrial cooperation
✅ Agriculture development
✅ Energy projects
✅ Infrastructure expansion

With increased Chinese investments, Pakistan is expected to experience job creation, advanced technology transfer, and industrial growth.

The Two Sessions will also highlight cooperation in:
Digital economy
Renewable energy
High-tech industries

These sectors are anticipated to attract Chinese investments, introducing cutting-edge technologies that will accelerate Pakistan’s industrial and economic development.

Chinese businesses, encouraged by government policies, are likely to invest in:
Large-scale infrastructure projects
Sustainable energy initiatives
Technological advancements

Such investments will contribute to knowledge transfer, boosting Pakistan’s global trade and economic integration.

Assadi stressed that enhanced connectivity, expanded trade routes, and access to global markets will drive mutual economic stability and regional growth.

With China’s long-term commitment to investing in Pakistan, the outcomes of the Two Sessions will further solidify Pakistan’s role in the global supply chain and elevate the strategic importance of CPEC.
