Chinese Ambassador Meets Pakistan’s Prime Minister to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday to discuss the ongoing strategic partnership and cooperation between the two nations.
Key Discussions
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif:
✔ Conveyed warm greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.
✔ Congratulated China on the successful convening of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
✔ Expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support on Pakistan’s core issues.
✔ Reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the Pakistan-China “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership”.
Focus on Security & Economic Cooperation
The leaders discussed enhancing security cooperation and counter-terrorism efforts to safeguard mutual interests. Additionally, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and directed authorities to ensure timely completion of key projects under the initiative.
Prime Minister Sharif noted that 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Pakistan in 2015. To honor this milestone, he emphasized the need for celebrations that reflect the strong Pakistan-China relationship. He also extended a formal invitation to President Xi to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic growth and stability. He praised the government’s efforts in improving the country’s macroeconomic situation and assured China’s continued cooperation in development projects.
