China, Russia, and Iran Demand End to Unilateral Sanctions

China, Russia, and Iran have jointly urged the international community to halt all illegal unilateral sanctions, emphasizing the need for diplomatic solutions. The call was made during high-level talks in Beijing, where senior diplomats discussed the Iran nuclear issue and regional stability.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stressed that sanctions and military threats only escalate tensions. They reaffirmed their commitment to UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which supports the 2015 Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA).

The officials urged all parties to create a favorable environment for negotiations and avoid actions that could worsen the crisis. China pledged to maintain an objective stance, supporting dialogue over confrontation.

The JCPOA, originally signed in 2015, was derailed in 2018 when the United States withdrew under Donald Trump’s administration, reinstating economic sanctions. Since then, Iran has gradually scaled back its nuclear commitments.
