Christian Nun Arrested in Italy for Alleged Ties to notorious mafia group

A well-respected Christian nun in Italy has been arrested on suspicion of having connections with the notorious mafia group, ‘Ndrangheta. Sister Anna Donelli, a 57-year-old nun from northern Italy, was taken into custody after investigations revealed her alleged ties to the criminal organization.

Sister Donelli, known for her charitable work, had received the prestigious annual “Golden Pentone” award for her volunteer efforts in prisons and troubled neighborhoods in Milan, Rome, and Brescia. Her arrest has sent shockwaves across Italy, given her previously untarnished reputation.

According to authorities, Sister Anna, along with 24 others, was arrested after an investigation into the ‘Ndrangheta group in Brescia. Officials claim they have strong evidence to suggest that the nun had been working with the criminal family for an extended period.

Authorities believe that Sister Donelli had been facilitating communication between mafia members incarcerated in various prisons and the leaders of the ‘Ndrangheta family.
