
DPM Ishaq Dar Arrives in Kuala Lumpur to Attend ASEAN Meeting

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, arrived in Malaysia’s capital on Thursday to participate in the **32nd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting**, scheduled for Friday.
The Deputy Prime Minister was received at Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Ambassador Syed Ahsan Raza, Pakistan’s envoy to Malaysia, along with senior officials from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The upcoming session of the ASEAN Regional Forum will convene foreign ministers and representatives from 27 member states, alongside the Secretary-General of ASEAN, to deliberate on key political and security developments in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Senator Dar will represent Pakistan in discussions centered around regional peace, stability, cooperation, and multilateral diplomacy, aligning with the ARF’s mandate to address security challenges through dialogue and collaboration.
On the sidelines of the ARF meeting, DPM Dar is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with several of his foreign counterparts, including the Malaysian Foreign Minister. These discussions will focus on expanding economic cooperation, enhancing people-to-people ties, and strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with ASEAN nations.
Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister will meet with members of the Pakistani diaspora in Kuala Lumpur, as part of his outreach initiative to connect with overseas Pakistanis and acknowledge their contribution to bilateral relations.
