Egypt Urges De-escalation and Dialogue Amid India-Pakistan Tensions

Egypt has expressed serious concern over the escalating hostilities between India and Pakistan, urging both countries to de-escalate tensions and engage in constructive dialogue.

In an official statement released by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 7 May, Egypt highlighted the recent cross-border shelling incidents that resulted in multiple casualties and injuries on both sides. The Egyptian government stated it is closely monitoring the situation and called for immediate steps to prevent further deterioration of regional peace.

The statement stressed the importance of restraint, emphasizing that both India and Pakistan must avoid actions that could aggravate the crisis. Cairo called for all efforts to be directed toward peaceful resolution and diplomatic engagement.
