Election Commission’s Second Consultative Meeting on PTI Reserved Seats Case Ends Without Conclusion

The Election Commission’s second high-level meeting on the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding PTI’s reserved seats ended without resolution. Chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the meeting included commission members, the secretary, and the legal team, which provided a detailed briefing on the court’s clarification.

Following the briefing, the commission opted to continue consultations, with another meeting scheduled for Thursday.

On September 14, the Supreme Court’s majority bench had issued a clarifying order, instructing that PTI’s successful candidates are those who submitted party certificates and directing the Election Commission to implement the decision immediately.
