Ethiopia and Pakistan Explore Youth Empowerment Initiatives

Ethiopian Ambassador Jamal Bakr Abdullah visited the Prime Minister Youth Programme (PMYP) office in Pakistan on Wednesday, engaging in a discussion with Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan about collaborative efforts to empower youth in both nations.

During the meeting, Ambassador Abdullah underscored the vital role of Ethiopian youth in addressing climate change, stressing the importance of harnessing their creativity and energy. “Ethiopian youth are playing a crucial role in the fight against climate change,” he noted, indicating potential areas for cooperation.

Chairman Khan commended Ethiopia’s remarkable progress under its current government, highlighting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has rolled out numerous initiatives aimed at uplifting young people, which could serve as a foundation for collaboration between the two countries.

The Ambassador announced an upcoming single-country exhibition in Ethiopia, scheduled for January 2025, inviting Pakistani traders to participate, thereby creating a platform to enhance trade relations.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both officials expressing their commitment to further initiatives that could empower the youth and drive transformative change in both countries.
