Feared Venezuelan Gang Members Deported from U.S., Transferred to El Salvador’s High-Security Prison
Members of the notorious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua have been deported from the United States and transferred to El Salvador’s infamous Terrorism Confinement Centre, known for its strict security measures. The move comes as part of intensified efforts to combat organized crime and illegal migration linked to violent gangs.
Footage of the deportation shows gang members being escorted under heavy security before their transfer to the maximum-security prison, which houses some of the region’s most dangerous criminals. El Salvador’s government, under President Nayib Bukele, has adopted a zero-tolerance approach to gang violence, and the facility is designed to impose strict isolation on inmates, limiting their ability to coordinate criminal activities.
The Tren de Aragua gang, originally formed in Venezuelan prisons, has expanded its influence across Latin America and the U.S., engaging in extortion, drug trafficking, and violent crimes. Authorities in both the U.S. and El Salvador have vowed to continue cracking down on transnational criminal networks to ensure regional security.
