Federal Government Bans PTM, Citing Threat to National Security

The federal government has officially banned the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) under Section 11B of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997, citing concerns over national peace and security.

A notification issued by the Ministry of Interior on Sunday declared PTM an “unlawful organization,” stating that the movement presents a “serious threat” to public order and safety across the country.

The ban marks a significant move by the government, reflecting concerns over PTM’s activities amid heightened focus on national stability.
