RAWALPINDI — Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), paid a visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Friday to receive an in-depth briefing on the prevailing security environment and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the visit, the army chief also attended the funeral prayers for the martyrs of the recent Bannu Garrison attack and met with the injured soldiers receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Bannu, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The COAS praised the unwavering courage and determination of Pakistan’s security forces, commending their sacrifices while confronting the Indian-backed terrorist network.

“The Pakistani nation stands firm in its resolve to uproot terrorism from every corner of the country, and this resolve will not waver until the menace is completely eradicated,” he emphasized.

He stressed Pakistan’s uncompromising commitment to hunt down all those who facilitate, support, or perpetrate acts of terror, promising they would face justice and the true face of regional terrorism would be exposed to the world.

“The blood of innocent Pakistanis will never go unavenged. Any effort to destabilize our nation will be met with a swift and crushing response,” Field Marshal Munir asserted.

He also underlined the importance of strengthening the capacity of civilian law enforcement agencies, particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and urged relevant government bodies to prioritize this effort. He assured that the Pakistan Army would extend full support to bolster the capabilities of law enforcement institutions.

Upon arrival at Corps Headquarters, the Chief of Army Staff was warmly welcomed by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
