FIFA Restores Pakistan Football Federation’s Membership, Ending Suspension

The Fédération International Football Association (FIFA) has officially lifted the suspension on the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), restoring its full membership rights. This decision follows the successful conclusion of PFF’s Extraordinary Congress, where constitutional amendments proposed by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) were unanimously approved.

In an official statement, FIFA announced, “The suspension of the Pakistan Football Federation has been lifted following the successful implementation of governance reforms and the approval of the required constitutional amendments.”

The PFF expressed gratitude to FIFA and AFC for their continued support and termed the restoration of membership a significant milestone for Pakistani football. “This decision marks a new beginning for football in Pakistan and is a moment of celebration for the entire football community,” stated a PFF spokesperson.

FIFA had previously suspended Pakistan’s membership multiple times due to governance disputes and internal conflicts within the PFF. As a result, Pakistan was barred from participating in international competitions, and all financial and technical assistance from FIFA was halted.

With FIFA’s decision to reinstate Pakistan’s membership, the national team can now participate in global tournaments, and FIFA’s financial and technical support will resume.
