Finance Minister Call for Inclusive Globalization at Boao Forum

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has called for a fairer and more inclusive globalization model, emphasizing the need for equal economic opportunities for developing nations. Speaking at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 in China, he highlighted the disparities in global trade and finance, urging policy reforms to ensure developing economies can thrive.

Aurangzeb pointed out that while globalization has reduced poverty, it remains unequal, with developed nations benefiting more while low-income countries struggle with trade barriers, debt burdens, and financial restrictions. He called for reforms in global financial institutions, stressing the need for fair trade policies, better market access, and sustainable debt relief mechanisms.

Discussing Pakistan’s economic priorities, he emphasized regional connectivity projects like CPEC and investment-friendly policies to boost growth. He also addressed climate challenges, urging wealthier nations to fulfill their $100 billion annual climate finance commitment to support developing economies affected by climate change.

Aurangzeb concluded by advocating for greater global cooperation, emphasizing that the future of globalization must be built on fairness, sustainability, and shared prosperity.
