Pakistan’s Foreign Office has strongly condemned the recent sanctions imposed by the United States on four Pakistani entities accused of supporting the country’s missile program. Calling the move “biased and unjust,” the Foreign Office warned that such actions could jeopardize regional stability and international peace.
In an official statement, the Foreign Office emphasized that Pakistan’s strategic capabilities are designed to safeguard its sovereignty and maintain peace and stability in South Asia. “Our strategic program is a sacred trust bestowed by the nation’s 240 million people and remains beyond compromise,” the statement read.
The U.S. Department of State announced sanctions under Executive Order 13382, targeting Pakistan’s National Development Complex (NDC) and three private companies based in Karachi. The entities are accused of facilitating the development of Pakistan’s Shaheen series ballistic missiles and procuring specialized equipment for missile testing.
Rejecting the allegations, Pakistan’s Foreign Office noted that similar punitive measures in the past lacked evidence and were based on suspicion.
The statement also criticized the United States for its inconsistent approach to non-proliferation. “While some countries receive relaxed licensing terms for advanced military technology, others face stringent restrictions. Such discriminatory practices undermine global peace, security, and non-proliferation agreements,” the statement asserted.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to international norms, the Foreign Office stated that the country is a responsible nuclear power and adheres strictly to non-proliferation principles. However, it made it clear that external pressure will not deter Pakistan from maintaining robust defensive capabilities.
