France’s Justice Minister Hosts Muslim World League Secretary-General in Paris for High-Level Talks
Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, was welcomed in Paris by French Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin, who also serves as Keeper of the Seals.
The French Justice Ministry held a formal luncheon in Dr. Al-Issa’s honor, recognizing his efforts in promoting global dialogue on religious understanding and addressing contemporary intellectual and ideological issues. The event provided an opportunity for both leaders to engage in meaningful discussions on matters related to religious affairs, legal frameworks, and interfaith cooperation.
Dr. Al-Issa’s visit to France comes in response to invitations from leading academic and policy institutions across Europe. During his stay, he has participated in forums that explore Islamic perspectives on modern challenges, dispel misconceptions about Sharia, and promote peaceful coexistence through religious literacy.
Minister Darmanin and Dr. Al-Issa explored themes surrounding the role of religion in public life, freedom of belief, and the impact of religious discourse on social harmony in French-speaking communities. The conversation also highlighted Minister Darmanin’s past and present engagements with religious affairs, both in France and internationally.
The MWL Secretary-General’s visit underscores the League’s mission to foster cross-cultural dialogue, counter extremism, and clarify authentic Islamic principles through constructive engagement with global leaders and institutions.
