Gaza-Bound Humanitarian Ship Targeted by Drone Strike in International Waters

A vessel transporting humanitarian supplies to Gaza was reportedly attacked by drones while navigating through international waters off Malta’s coast.

The ship, identified as Conscience, was en route as part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition mission.
According to organizers, the vessel was struck twice by armed drones around 12:23 AM local time.

The assault caused a fire and a large breach in the hull, critically damaging the unarmed civilian ship.
No fatalities were reported. All 12 crew and 4 passengers were confirmed safe by Maltese authorities.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition accused Israel of carrying out the strike. A statement demanded accountability for “violations of international law” and called on governments to summon Israeli envoys.

The ship was carrying activists from over 20 nations seeking to challenge the blockade on Gaza and deliver life-saving aid.

The ship had departed from Bizerte, Tunisia, and was heading to Malta before heading to Gaza
