Gilgit-Baltistan Imposes New Taxes on Tourists

Tourists visiting Gilgit-Baltistan will now face a new financial burden, as the region has introduced a tax on non-local visitors. The new policy mandates a tax of PKR 2,000 for vehicles entering Gilgit-Baltistan, while motorcyclists will be charged PKR 500 per individual.

Additionally, non-local hotel owners in the area will also be required to pay a fee as part of the new regulations. The move is expected to help manage the increasing influx of tourists and support local infrastructure.
