Foreign ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held an important meeting to address a range of key regional and international issues, with the Palestinian conflict topping the agenda. The ministers unanimously called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and stressed the need for a just and lasting resolution to the ongoing crisis in the Palestinian territories.
The gathering, chaired by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, also included discussions on the deteriorating security situation in Lebanon, as well as other pressing regional matters. The ministers aimed to solidify a unified stance on these critical issues ahead of the 45th GCC summit scheduled for Sunday in Kuwait.
The meeting saw the participation of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, who joined in the preparatory discussions for the summit. The foreign ministers reviewed the progress made on Gulf cooperation and explored avenues for strengthening ties across various sectors. In addition to the Palestinian issue, ministers touched upon regional security developments, including the latest events in Gaza and Lebanon.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Owaishiq, the GCC’s Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, emphasized that the upcoming summit would focus not only on the regional security landscape but also on broader military, economic, and strategic matters that directly affect the Gulf nations and their citizens.
