A vibrant procession celebrating the 485th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, known as Joti Jot, took place yesterday, traversing from Gurdwara Sahib Kartarpur to the Zero Line border terminal.
Indian pilgrims flocked to the site via the Kartarpur Corridor, culminating the festivities on Sunday. The events concluded with an Akhand Path bhog ceremony at Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.
Sayed Ata ur Rehman, Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, alongside Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, unveiled a statue of Bhai Mardana, a close companion of Guru Nanak. They also initiated the planting of various vegetable seeds and fruit-bearing plants at Kheti Sahib and began the distribution of Khajoor harvest offerings.
Pilgrims expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Pakistani people, government, and Evacuee Trust Property Board officials for their dedication to the care of Sikh holy sites. Ramesh Singh highlighted that the Kartarpur Corridor serves as a meaningful gift for the global Sikh community.
