Makkah,— The sacred journey of Hajj 2025 has officially commenced as millions of pilgrims from across the globe arrived in Mina after donning the Ihram. The pilgrims will begin performing key rituals, starting with prayers and an overnight stay in Mina before proceeding to Arafat and other significant Hajj rites.
Today, the pilgrims will offer Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers in Mina, where they will spend the night. On the morning of 9th Dhul-Hijjah, they will depart for the plain of Arafat to perform the key rite of Waquf-e-Arafat, listen to the Hajj sermon, and offer Dhuhr and Asr prayers before sunset.
After Maghrib, without praying in Arafat, pilgrims will move towards Muzdalifah. Upon arrival, they will offer combined Maghrib and Isha prayers, collect pebbles for Ramy al-Jamarat, and spend the night under the open sky.
On 10th Dhul-Hijjah (Eid al-Adha), pilgrims will stone the largest pillar (Jamrat al-Aqaba) with seven pebbles, perform animal sacrifice, and then either shave (halq) or trim (taqsir) their hair to exit the state of Ihram. This will be followed by Tawaf al-Ziyarah and Sa’i between Safa and Marwah.
On the 11th and 12th of Dhul-Hijjah, pilgrims will throw seven pebbles each at all three Jamarat (small, medium, and large). On the 13th, after the final stoning, pilgrims will begin returning to their residences or departures.
The Saudi government has made extensive arrangements to ensure the safety, guidance, and comfort of the pilgrims. Hajj 2025 brings together millions of Muslims from around the world in a remarkable display of unity, devotion, and spiritual purification.
