The Hazara region came alive with color and celebration as Hazara Culture Day unfolded across its eight districts and the newly formed Allai, showcasing a rich tapestry of traditions and heritage.
From the bustling streets of Abbottabad to the serene peaks of Kohistan, communities gathered to honor their shared history. Highlights included the Kumar dance, where participants in traditional attire moved to the rhythmic beats, creating a mesmerizing display of cultural pride.
In Mansehra, the smell of Katwa, a beloved Hazara dish, filled the air as families shared meals, while local artisans displayed crafts that reflected generations of skill. Baba Kareem, a woodcarver, shared his passion, saying, “Every piece tells the story of our land and its people.”
Cultural stages across Haripur, Mansehra, and Abbottabad hosted performances and poetry recitals, with Hindko poets weaving tales of courage and kinship. Ayla, a young performer, moved audiences with her ode to Hazara’s majestic mountains and flowing rivers.
Ranking row Tower in Haripur became a hub of activity, with CEO Ammad Ali commending the region’s hospitality and diversity. “Hazara’s strength lies in its harmony. This event symbolizes our collective spirit,” he noted.
Former Speaker Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani praised the region’s historical contributions, stating, “Hazara has always stood as a vital part of Pakistan’s progress. Today, we celebrate not just our past but the future we are building together.”
One of the day’s highlights was the Lift Stone competition in Haripur, where Faisal’s victory brought cheers and a sense of pride. The event underscored the resilience and strength of the Hazara community.
The celebrations concluded with a grand showcase by the Hazara Student Council in Islamabad, featuring traditional songs and heartfelt messages of unity. Chairman Hamza Iqbal Khan Jadoon emphasized, “Our heritage is our identity. Through events like this, we honor our roots while looking forward to a brighter future.”
The Hazara Division, spanning Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram, Kohistan, and Torghar, came together to celebrate its vibrant culture, showcasing the enduring bond of its people. Hazara Culture Day was not just an event but a testament to unity, pride, and a shared vision for the future.
