High-Level Saudi Delegation Return after Signs $2.2 Billion in Agreements

Minister of Investment Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih with A high-level Saudi delegation concluded its three-day visit to Pakistan on Friday evening, following successful bilateral talks with the Pakistani government. The Saudi investment delegation, comprising 129 members from over 50 companies and several Saudi departments, signed 27 agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth $2.2 billion during the visit.

On Friday, the Saudi delegation participated in a government-to-government roundtable conference with Pakistani ministers and senior officials. The Pakistani side was represented by Federal Ministers Musadik Malik, Abdul Aleem Khan, Jam Kamal Khan, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Rana Tanveer, Owais Leghari, Ahsan Iqbal, and Shaza Fatima.

During the discussions, several proposals for collaboration in various sectors were presented, including food security, IT, construction, mining, transportation, and enhancing railway and maritime links. Minister of State for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, briefed the conference on digitalization and e-governance initiatives.

Expressing goodwill toward Pakistan, Saudi Investment Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih said there are vast opportunities for investment in the country. He noted that the meetings with Pakistan’s leadership were fruitful and expressed confidence in the positive outcomes of the collaboration. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s investment landscape.

In response, Pakistan’s Finance Minister highlighted that the country’s economy is on the path to stabilization, with key indicators showing improvement. He also noted that several policies have been introduced to strengthen the economy.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik stated that Saudi Arabia’s long-standing relationship with Pakistan would be further strengthened through mutual investment, aligning Saudi Vision 2030 with Pakistan’s economic priorities. Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan underscored the growing ties between the business communities of both nations, particularly in textiles, leather, and food industries.

It was also announced that a 30-member Pakistani trade delegation will visit Saudi Arabia in November to further strengthen bilateral trade.

Later, Pakistani Investment Minister Abdul Aleem Khan hosted a reception in honor of the Saudi delegation. Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih reiterated his optimistic outlook, stating, “There are ample investment opportunities in Pakistan, and the meetings with the Prime Minister and Pakistani officials have been excellent.
