Imran Khan’s Message to PTI: Time to Stand Firm, Says Aleema Khan
Report by Safarti Tarjuman Local Desk
PTI founder Imran Khan has conveyed a powerful message to his party: the time has come to stand firm. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, his sister Aleema Khan said, “Those who can’t carry the weight should step aside—no complaints. New people must rise who are ready to bear the responsibility.”
Aleema Khan stated that jail authorities had once again violated court orders by denying visitation rights. However, Imran Khan’s lawyer Naeem Panjutha was allowed to meet him and communicated his message.
Khan emphasized his long-standing commitment to constitutional supremacy and rule of law. Aleema revealed that two years ago, he was asked to stay silent for three years, but he firmly rejected the offer, saying he would not remain silent even for three minutes.
Addressing the May 9 events, Aleema Khan said Imran Khan was urged to apologize, but he refused, insisting that those responsible for violence should be held accountable—not him.
She added that Khan is facing pressure to abandon his stance on the supremacy of the Constitution, warning that such demands are unacceptable. “If there are other motives behind this pressure, they should be made public,” she said.
Aleema Khan also raised concerns over the 26th Constitutional Amendment, claiming it was introduced to cover up rigging in the February 8 general elections.
