India and Pakistan DGMOs Hold Talks to De-escalate Border Tensions
The Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India held a crucial discussion via the military hotline, aiming to de-escalate recent hostilities along the Line of Control (LoC). The dialogue, which commenced at 5:00 PM IST after a brief delay, marked the first formal military engagement between the two sides since the ceasefire agreement reached on May 10. Pakistan’s DGMO Major General Kashif Abdullah and India’s DGMO Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai led the talks.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to the ceasefire and agreed to cease all cross-border firing. The DGMOs also discussed reducing troop deployments in forward areas, emphasizing the need for restraint and mutual respect to prevent future escalations.
Security sources confirmed that both militaries will remain in contact and continue confidence-building measures to uphold peace along the LoC.
