India has secured a decisive 7-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the second Test match at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, completing a clean sweep of the two-match series.
Bangladesh resumed their second innings on the final day with a precarious score of 26 runs for two wickets, needing just 26 runs to take the lead. However, they struggled against a disciplined Indian bowling attack. Mushfiqur Rahim was the only Bangladeshi batsman to make a significant contribution, scoring 37 runs. The rest of the team faltered, with no other batsman reaching double figures.
Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja each claimed three wickets, while Akash Deep took one, helping to dismiss Bangladesh for just 64 runs in their second innings.
In response, India chased down the modest target of 95 runs in just 17.2 overs, losing three wickets in the process. Yashasvi Jaiswal was named Player of the Match for his impressive half-centuries in both innings, while Ashwin received accolades for his all-round performance. Jaiswal’s innings of 51 runs off 45 balls, alongside an unbeaten 29 from Virat Kohli, sealed the victory for India.
