India Should Stop Sponsoring Terrorism Instead of Making Baseless Allegations: Pakistan Foreign Office
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has strongly rejected recent accusations made by the Indian External Affairs Minister, urging New Delhi to end its support for terrorism instead of targeting Pakistan with false allegations.
During the weekly press briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized that Indian officials routinely issue inflammatory statements against Pakistan. He said that rather than engaging in blame games, India must halt its backing of terrorist activities and address its involvement in cross-border violence.
Shafqat Ali Khan confirmed that investigations into the Jaafar Express terror attack are ongoing. He revealed that the perpetrators maintained contact with handlers based in Afghanistan, suggesting the involvement of regional networks.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful diplomatic relations, the spokesperson stated that Islamabad seeks positive ties with all countries, guided by principles of mutual respect. He highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding friendship with China and decades-old strategic partnership with the United States.
Shafqat Ali Khan labeled such actions as grave violations of human rights and reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
Addressing recent negative media coverage regarding Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, the spokesperson confirmed that recent talks between the foreign secretaries of both countries were held in a cordial and constructive environment. While some unresolved issues were discussed, attempts to misrepresent the outcome of these negotiations were described as misleading and counterproductive.
Pakistan reaffirmed its dedication to regional peace, dialogue, and cooperation, urging responsible behavior from all neighboring states.
