IPO-Pakistan and NSDRA Partnership to Enhance Agriculture Sector

The Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan) and the National Seeds Development and Regulatory Authority (NSDRA) have partnered to advance Pakistan’s agriculture sector through the integration of intellectual property (IP) protections and innovative technologies.

During a meeting between Chairman IPO-Pakistan Ambassador (R) Farukh Amil and Chairman NSDRA Dr. Asif Ali Khan, both organizations agreed to collaborate on:

  • Promoting IP-protected Agri-Tech.
  • Enhancing cooperation with farmers, universities, and research centers.
  • Driving innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture.

The partnership aims to boost economic growth by fostering a culture of innovation, leveraging intellectual property to improve competitiveness in the agriculture sector.

Dr. Asif Ali Khan supported a proposal to introduce intellectual property education into the National Curriculum at the school level. This initiative seeks to raise awareness about the importance of innovation and IP protection from an early age, preparing future generations for sustainable progress.

This collaboration underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening innovation in key sectors like agriculture. By combining IPO-Pakistan’s expertise in intellectual property with NSDRA’s focus on seed development and regulation, the initiative is poised to deliver transformative benefits for farmers and the national economy.
