Tehran — Iran has launched a fresh wave of missile attacks on Israel under the tenth phase of “Operation True Promise III”, targeting multiple Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Sharon, with reports of loud explosions emerging from several areas.
According to Israeli media, at least 20 missiles were fired by Iran, some of which struck various locations across Israel. In response, the Israeli Home Front Command issued a high-level security alert, urging civilians to move to designated safe zones.
A spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that the missile strikes specifically targeted Israeli airbases allegedly used in conducting “terrorist operations” against Iranian citizens and infrastructure. The official began the statement with a verse from the Quran’s Surah Al-Baqarah:
“So if anyone transgresses against you, then retaliate with the like of that with which he transgressed against you.”
The IRGC further warned that these retaliatory strikes would be “gradual and continuous”, signaling a possible escalation in coming days.
In a swift counterstrike, Israel launched attacks on Tehran and the city of Karaj, igniting massive fires in residential buildings. Eyewitnesses reported hearing powerful explosions, and flames were reportedly visible from miles away, triggering panic among local residents.
The missile exchange follows a warning by Iranian Chief of General Staff, Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, who had earlier announced a “major response” to Israel’s military actions. His remarks now appear to have been a prelude to the latest Iranian assault.
Tensions between Iran and Israel have intensified dramatically, with the current phase potentially pushing the region further toward a full-scale confrontation.
