Iran Rejects U.S. Authority, Says 1979 Ended Era of Dictates

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has strongly criticized the U.S. government, asserting that Washington has no right to dictate Iran’s foreign policy.

In a statement on social media, Araghchi emphasized that the era of issuing commands to Iran ended in 1979 with the victory of the Islamic Revolution. He warned that the U.S. has no legal or moral authority to intervene in Iran’s affairs.

He also condemned the Biden administration’s decision last year to transfer $23 billion to what he described as a “brutal regime,” accusing it of enabling the deaths of 60,000 Palestinians. Araghchi further stated that the world holds the U.S. accountable for these actions.

The Iranian foreign minister called on the U.S. to end its support for Israeli “genocide and terrorism” and to stop the mass killing of Yemeni civilians.
