ISLAMABAD — Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, declared that Iran will continue its peaceful nuclear program despite the recent US airstrikes targeting three nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
Addressing an emergency press conference at the National Press Club in Islamabad on Sunday, Ambassador Moghadam emphasized that Iran’s nuclear activities are entirely peaceful and aligned with international protocols.
“Our nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes, including electricity generation,” the ambassador stated. “The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed this in 15 separate reports.”
Dr. Moghadam strongly condemned the coordinated attacks by the United States and Israel, labeling them as grave violations of international law.
“The Israeli and American actions cannot go unanswered. Iran will respond in line with the UN Charter,” he warned, adding, “We will target American interests around the globe if necessary.”
He noted that previous attacks by Israel had resulted in the martyrdom of Iranian nuclear scientists and senior military commanders, to which Iran had responded with precision missile strikes.
The ambassador affirmed that Iran remains fully committed to defending its sovereignty and will maintain its nuclear activities under the direction of its leadership.
“We are prepared to fight this war for as long as necessary,” he said. “Our nuclear commission is actively assessing the damage to ensure public safety.”
He also clarified that Iran had not requested any external military support at this stage.
Ambassador Moghadam expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s official condemnation of the US-led airstrikes.
“We thank the Government of Pakistan for standing by Iran in this critical moment,” he added.
Responding to a media query, Dr. Moghadam revealed that Iranian authorities had apprehended individuals involved in espionage, including citizens of Iran.
“Drones and other surveillance equipment have been recovered from spies operating in the country,” he disclosed.
