Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, paid a visit to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Islamabad on Monday. The meeting, held with a delegation, aimed to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, and the ongoing aggression in Gaza.
During the meeting, Ambassador Moghadam expressed his admiration for Fazlur Rehman’s leadership and praised JUI-F’s efforts in supporting Palestine. He stated, “Consulting with seasoned leaders like Maulana Fazlur Rehman is essential, especially in these challenging times.”
The Iranian diplomat acknowledged the JUI-F’s role in organizing solidarity demonstrations for Gaza and commended its consistent support for the Palestinian cause. Fazlur Rehman reiterated the need for a united Islamic front to defend Gaza and counter Israeli aggression.
He called on nations including Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia to take concrete actions to support Palestine. “The Muslim world must raise a strong voice for the Palestinians and adopt decisive measures against Israel,” he emphasized.
Fazlur Rehman further highlighted his party’s role in thwarting attempts to recognize Israel in Pakistan, stating, “We, along with the people of Pakistan, have buried any conspiracy to normalize relations with Israel.”
The meeting was attended by JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri, former MNA Maulana Muhammad Qasim, and Mufti Abrar, underscoring the party’s commitment to regional and international issues.
