Iranian Consul General Hassan Darvishvand met with Baluchistan Assembly Speaker Captain (R) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai on Wednesday.
The Speaker lauded Darvishvand’s tenure in Quetta, acknowledging his efforts to foster collaboration between Iran and Baluchistan. He expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Iranian Consul General during his service.
Speaker Achakzai emphasized the enduring ties between Pakistan and Iran, describing the relationship as “exemplary and brotherly.” He assured continued efforts from Baluchistan to bolster economic and cultural connections with Iran, particularly in trade and people-to-people exchanges.
“The relationship between our nations is deeply rooted in history, and Baluchistan remains committed to building on this foundation,” the Speaker remarked.
Darvishvand expressed satisfaction with the progress in Iran-Pakistan relations during his tenure. He highlighted the consistent cooperation from the government and people of Baluchistan, which, he said, had reinforced the friendship between the two nations.
“I am leaving with a heart full of gratitude for the hospitality and support shown to me during my time in Quetta,” Darvishvand noted, extending his best wishes to the people of Baluchistan.
The meeting also addressed avenues for expanding cross-border trade, cultural exchanges, and energy collaboration between Baluchistan and Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan Province. Both leaders expressed their commitment to enhancing these areas for mutual benefit.
