Hosted at the consulate, the evening brought together prominent literary voices in tribute to what Iranian officials hailed as a victory not just for Iran, but for the broader Muslim Ummah. Poets used their craft to reflect on courage, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of resistance.

Iran’s Cultural Counsellor Majid Meshki, in his welcome remarks, expressed deep gratitude to the literary community for preserving historical memory through verse.

“This night was more than a gathering — it was a literary milestone celebrating faith, freedom, and cultural unity,” he noted.

Meshki emphasized the role of senior poets in mentoring younger voices, calling upon them to uphold the tradition of poetic expression as a force for historical reflection and national identity.

The consulate announced plans to archive the poetry recited during the event, including remote submissions, to preserve the literary response to Iran’s resistance.

Meshki added,

“Though the war may be paused, the lesson Iran delivered will echo across generations. This moment belongs to the entire Muslim world.”

Dr. Amber Yasmin, Head of the Persian Department at NUML, expressed how deeply the conflict resonated with the people of Pakistan.

“This wasn’t just Iran’s war. It was felt in every Pakistani home — women, children, and men stood with Iran, emotionally and spiritually,” she said.

She credited Iran’s strategic leadership and military for their resilience and commended the poetic tributes that captured the emotional gravity of the moment.

Renowned poets including Muhammad Shahzeb Iqbal, Zain Abbas Zaidi, Munib Kayan, Abdul Qadir, and Dr. Junaid Azar delivered stirring recitations. The evening opened with Dr. Syed Asad Ali Kazmi’s powerful poem “Darood A Sarzameen-e-Ishq-o-Irfan” (A Salute to the Land of Love and Enlightenment).

The event concluded with emotional calls for literary unity, resistance through culture, and solidarity in the face of global injustice.
