JERUSALEM: During the recent 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, Iranian ballistic missiles reportedly struck five Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) bases, according to satellite imagery analyzed by Oregon State University and shared with The Telegraph.
The reported targets included key military facilities such as Tel Nof airbase, the Glilot intelligence center, and the Zipporit weapons manufacturing site.
While Israeli military censorship restricts full details about the extent of the damage, the IDF confirmed to The Telegraph that *“all relevant units maintained functional continuity throughout the operation.”
The satellite analysis suggested that Iran’s success in breaching Israel’s sophisticated air defense systems reached a peak missile penetration rate of 16% by the seventh day of fighting before declining thereafter.
The strikes underscore both the capabilities and limitations of Israel’s multi-layered missile defense systems in responding to large-scale coordinated attacks from a regional adversary.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who visited Tel Nof airbase during the hostilities, commended the IDF for its resilience and readiness under intense missile fire.
