Iraqi Air Force Commander Meets Pakistan’s CJCSC, Vows Stronger Defence Ties

Islamabad — The Commander of the Iraqi Air Force, Lieutenant General Muhannad Ghalib Muhammad Radi Al-Asadi, called on General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), during his official visit to Pakistan at the Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Both sides held detailed discussions on the evolving regional and global geo-strategic environment. The meeting underscored the importance of enhanced bilateral collaboration in defence and security to strengthen regional peace and stability.

The two dignitaries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding Pakistan-Iraq defence cooperation, highlighting shared goals of combating terrorism and addressing emerging regional security challenges.

Lieutenant General Al-Asadi praised the professional excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces, commending their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and their continued role in promoting peace and stability across the region.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, the Iraqi Air Force Commander was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent, reflecting the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iraq.
