Ishaq Dar Condemns PTI Protest Timing

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest, describing it as a threat to Pakistan’s global reputation. The protest, he noted, comes just as the country prepares to host the prestigious Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Islamabad.

In an official statement, Dar expressed concern that the timing of PTI’s protest was deliberately set to create turmoil and undermine Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts at the summit. He accused the party of attempting to sabotage national interests on the international stage.

Dar also denounced PTI’s move to invite a foreign minister from a specific country to join their protest, labeling it a “political stunt” designed to tarnish Pakistan’s image.

He called on political leaders to put aside personal agendas in favor of the nation’s stability, urging all parties to prioritize the greater good of Pakistan during this critical time.

“We must move towards national stability and steer the country in the right direction,” Dar stressed, emphasizing the need for unity as the country navigates important diplomatic milestones.
