The Islamabad High Court has mandated the creation of a medical board to assess the health of Imran Khan, the founder of PTI and former Prime Minister. The order was issued by Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb, who instructed that Khan’s personal physician, Dr. Faisal Sultan, be included in the board.
The court directed the Executive Director of PIMS to assemble the medical board and file a report with the registrar’s office. A copy of the court’s order will also be forwarded to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to ensure compliance.
In its judgment, the court emphasized Khan’s age of 72 years and his status as an under-trial prisoner, stating that security protocols in Adiala Jail should not hinder a qualified doctor from carrying out his medical check-up.
The Islamabad High Court concluded the proceedings regarding Khan’s request with specific instructions.
