HEBRON — Israel’s security forces have dismantled a large-scale Hamas network in the occupied West Bank, arresting 60 suspected militants believed to be planning imminent attacks, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to a statement from Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency, the dismantled network included 10 Hamas-linked cells operating in Hebron. The suspects were allegedly working to organize shooting and bombing attacks targeting Israeli civilians and security forces.

“A significant, complex, and large-scale Hamas infrastructure was exposed,” Shin Bet said, describing the joint three-month operation — conducted with the Israeli army and police — as its biggest security investigation in the West Bank “in the past decade.”

The agency accused Hamas leaders of actively recruiting, arming, and training new operatives across the Hebron area, with instructions to carry out attacks “in various formats in the immediate time frame.”

Shin Bet confirmed that terrorism charges are now being filed against the arrested suspects.

Hamas has yet to publicly comment on the arrests.
