Israel Launches Limited Ground Raids Against Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon

Israel’s long-anticipated ground invasion of Lebanon appears to be underway, with military forces launching “limited” raids against Hezbollah targets early Tuesday.

The Israeli military stated that it had begun “limited, localized, and targeted ground raids” based on precise intelligence, focusing on southern Lebanese villages that pose an “immediate threat” to communities in northern Israel. Ground troops are reportedly being supported by air force and artillery units conducting “precise strikes.”

One significant strike targeted a building in the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near Sidon, marking the first attack on Lebanon’s largest Palestinian camp since the escalation of cross-border hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel nearly a year ago.
