Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has warned that Israel’s ongoing military aggression poses a severe threat to regional peace, urging the international community, particularly Muslim nations, to unite in confronting growing instability in the Middle East.
Speaking at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers’ Conference in Istanbul, Ishaq Dar condemned Israel’s escalating military actions, which he said have resulted in the deaths of thousands of women and children. He called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, stressing that Israeli attacks are in blatant violation of international law.
Dar expressed deep appreciation for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish leadership for their hospitality and efforts to host the vital diplomatic summit.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of collective Muslim efforts in addressing pressing global challenges, including Islamophobia, rising regional conflicts, and humanitarian crises. “It is essential for the Muslim Ummah to act jointly to confront these challenges, and I hope the OIC will play an active role in this regard,” he said.
He also voiced serious concerns over worsening conditions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, highlighting the need for global solidarity with the Palestinian people.
FM Dar reiterated Pakistan’s position on Kashmir, stating that a just and lasting solution is vital for sustainable peace in South Asia. He condemned India’s actions in halting Pakistan’s share of water, calling it “unacceptable under any circumstances.”
On Islamophobia, Dar called for coordinated global efforts to counter growing hate and discrimination against Muslims, urging all OIC member states to stand united in protecting Muslim rights worldwide.
Concluding his remarks, Dar accused both India and Israel of sponsoring terrorism and pursuing hostile policies aimed at destabilizing the region. He reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to promoting regional peace and stability through diplomatic means and strong international partnerships.
