Israeli Airstrike Hits Gaza School, Death Toll Rises to 18, Many Injured

An Israeli airstrike has targeted a central school in Gaza City, killing at least 18 people and injuring several others. The school, which had been converted into a refugee shelter, was struck in the latest escalation of violence in the region.

According to reports, the majority of Gaza’s 2.4 million residents have experienced displacement at least once due to the ongoing conflict. Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense Agency, confirmed that the al-Joni school in Nuseirat, which had been previously attacked multiple times, was bombed again on Wednesday. The death toll has now reached 18.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that emergency teams have removed five bodies from the scene and transported them to local hospitals. Meanwhile, access to Tubas has been restricted, and Israeli military vehicles have been observed moving through the northern West Bank near the Jordanian border.
