GAZA: Israeli warplanes carried out a wave of airstrikes across Gaza on Sunday, killing at least 38 Palestinians as ceasefire negotiations entered a critical juncture.
Officials at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis confirmed that 18 victims were from al-Mawasi, a coastal area densely packed with tents housing thousands of displaced civilians.
According to Gaza’s health ministry, Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours have killed a total of 80 people and injured at least 304 others, intensifying the already dire humanitarian situation in the besieged territory.
The latest escalation coincides with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s departure for Washington, where he will engage in negotiations for a US-brokered ceasefire agreement. Diplomats believe a breakthrough may be possible, although challenges remain on both sides.
Humanitarian agencies continue to warn of catastrophic conditions in Gaza as food, water, and medical supplies run dangerously low. The renewed bombardment has deepened fears for civilians trapped in conflict zones.
With international pressure mounting, observers say the coming days could be decisive in determining whether a sustainable truce can be achieved.
