Israeli Cabinet Approves Expanded Gaza Offensive and Restructured Aid Strategy
Report By Safarti Tarjuman International Desk
Israel’s security cabinet has officially approved a broader military campaign in Gaza alongside a strategic overhaul of humanitarian aid delivery, amid continued tensions and security threats emanating from the enclave.
The approved plan includes provisions for an expanded ground operation in Gaza, though military sources confirm that no intensification will occur before U.S. President Donald Trump’s scheduled Middle East visit later this month.
Under the new policy, humanitarian supplies to Gaza will be resumed only on a conditional basis, with strict oversight and security clearances. Aid delivery will now be implemented through a revised mechanism to prevent diversion by militant groups.
The revised strategy aims to balance military pressure on Hamas with the controlled provision of humanitarian relief, responding to growing international calls for civilian protections without compromising Israeli security.
Senior officials emphasized that the military expansion will focus on neutralizing remaining Hamas strongholds while minimizing collateral damage, especially in densely populated areas.
The decision follows recent cross-border rocket attacks and intelligence indicating continued militant activity. Israeli defense authorities stated that preparations are ongoing, and that operational timing will consider both regional diplomacy and tactical advantage.
