Jemima Goldsmith Alleges Imran Khan’s Isolation in Jail

Jemima Goldsmith, the ex-wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has made serious allegations regarding his current conditions in prison. She claims that he is being kept in total isolation, with authorities reportedly cutting off electricity and light in his cell.

In her post on X, Jemima raised alarms about the situation, stating that Imran is not allowed to leave his cell at any time. “He is truly in the dark,” she said, describing the bleak conditions of his imprisonment.

Jemima further alleged that the jail’s cook has been sent on leave, leaving Imran without meals and contributing to his complete isolation. She expressed concern over the safety and well-being of her ex-husband, noting that his legal team is increasingly apprehensive about his treatment.

The former wife of the PTI leader suggested that these measures are part of a broader strategy to silence him and stifle political dissent within Pakistan. “These actions are aimed at suppressing Imran and the PTI, as well as attacking his supporters,” she commented.

Jemima also referenced recent incidents involving Imran Khan’s family. She pointed out that his nephew Hassan Niazi has been imprisoned since August 2023. In addition, she highlighted the arrests of his sisters, Uzma and Aleema Khan, during a peaceful protest, emphasizing that there is no valid legal basis for their detention.

Her statements have sparked international concern regarding the treatment of political figures in Pakistan, raising important questions about the state of human rights and political freedom in the country.
