Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, has condemned the recent Israeli military offensive in northern Gaza, urging the international community to intervene and halt what he described as “inhumane and illegal actions.”
In statements released through Arab media, Safadi labeled the Israeli operations as war crimes, stating that the scale of aggression against Gaza’s civilian population has crossed all bounds of humanity. He took to the social media platform X, condemning the ongoing violence, saying, “What Israel is doing in northern Gaza is nothing short of a humanitarian atrocity, a war crime that the global conscience cannot and must not tolerate.”
He further called on the international community to take swift and decisive action to end the bloodshed. Safadi highlighted the dire need for global intervention, stressing, “There is no justification or excuse for the failure of international bodies to protect innocent Palestinian lives.”
The Jordanian official also demanded that Israel be stopped from what he termed as “ethnic cleansing” and urged for the strict implementation of international law. Safadi’s appeal emphasized the need for accountability, stating, “The world must act to prevent the systematic killing of Palestinians and ensure that international legal frameworks are upheld.”
The conflict, which began on October 7, 2023, has led to significant loss of life, with over 43,000 Palestinians reported dead, including a high number of women and children. The violence has drawn widespread condemnation, with calls growing for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid for those affected.
