The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has approved filing a petition in the Supreme Court to challenge the proposed constitutional amendments. Cabinet members asserted that the absence of PTI’s reserved seats has left the parliament incomplete and questioned the federal government’s authority to amend the constitution.
In other decisions, the cabinet sanctioned Rs. 30 million for the Lahore High Court Bar Association and eased restrictions on vehicle purchases for Peshawar High Court judges, approving a Rs. 9.9 million grant.
The meeting also approved Rs. 14 million in compensation for 119 shopkeepers affected in Peshawar’s Nothia Bazaar. Furthermore, a Debt Management Fund was established to alleviate rising debt burdens.
The cabinet allocated Rs. 9.139 billion for rebuilding flood-affected infrastructure, Rs. 1.5 billion for public sector universities, and Rs. 30 million for a flood protection wall in North Waziristan to safeguard agricultural land and military posts.
