Kyrgyz Deputy PM Meets PM Shehbaz Sharif to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed growing bilateral ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, following a high-level meeting with Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, who is leading a senior delegation to Islamabad.

The Kyrgyz delegation is visiting Pakistan to attend the 5th Session of the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission (IGC), a key platform for expanding cooperation in trade, energy, regional connectivity, and education.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed satisfaction with the successful outcome of the IGC session, especially the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and a formal protocol. He emphasized that these agreements represent vital progress in building a robust and future-focused partnership between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.

“These agreements are concrete steps towards advancing our shared vision for regional integration, sustainable economic growth, and enhanced people-to-people connections,” said PM Shehbaz.

He emphasized Pakistan’s full commitment to timely implementation of IGC decisions, and stressed the importance of consistent follow-up to ensure that policy commitments translate into practical outcomes.

The Kyrgyz side expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts to deepen diplomatic and economic engagement and voiced confidence that the agreements signed during the session would lead to stronger, results-driven cooperation between the two nations.

Both delegations reaffirmed their determination to foster strategic partnerships across multiple sectors, underscoring the need for sustained engagement at governmental and business levels.
