The Embassy of Pakistan in Muscat hosted the inaugural multi-sectoral Pakistan-Oman Trade Expo and Business Conference on Sunday, marking a significant step in strengthening economic ties between the two nations. The event, which will run for two days, has drawn attention from various sectors, showcasing the potential for collaboration and investment.
Attendees included prominent figures such as Sayyid Juland Bin Jaifar Al Said, Chairman of the Pakistan Oman Investment Company; Sayyida Hujaija Bint Jaifar Al Said, International Ambassador for Social Responsibility; and Faisal Bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The event was also graced by Imran Ali, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman, along with Nouman Ali, CEO of Oman Investment Authority, and Saqib Fayyaz Magoon, VP of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
This landmark expo features participation from Pakistani business houses across ten categories, including textiles, fashion apparel, agricultural products, surgical instruments, sports goods, pharmaceuticals, handicrafts, and hotel investments. A total of 172 business delegates from leading Pakistani companies are presenting their high-quality products to the Omani market for the first time under one roof.
The expo not only allows Pakistani businesses to showcase their offerings but also presents investment opportunities for Pakistani investors in Oman. It fosters direct interactions between Omani and Pakistani businesses, paving the way for potential partnerships and collaborations.
In addition, specialized sessions were conducted to educate Pakistani businesspersons on the legal frameworks for establishing and operating companies in Oman. Speakers from both sides acknowledged that the warm relations enjoyed by the two countries do not reflect the untapped trade potential that exists between them.
Oman is actively seeking to diversify its economy and reduce its reliance on oil, while Pakistan aims to boost its exports and explore new markets. In his address, the Chairman of the Oman Chambers of Commerce and Industry welcomed the Pakistani exhibitors and business delegates, expressing optimism about the prospects for increasing trade volumes.
Ambassador Imran Ali Chaudhry expressed his gratitude to the Government of Oman for facilitating the expo, emphasizing that this event marks a new chapter in economic partnership between the two nations. He reiterated his commitment to making the expo an annual feature, encouraging ongoing engagement between the business communities of Pakistan and Oman to stimulate new opportunities for trade and investment.
